I would use the prize money to buy some Forensic Science kits for schools. The schools could then utilise the kits to teach students about science but in a fun and applied way (i.e. using forensic science). In terms of why you should vote for me – I guess you do so if you like the way I answer your questions and chat in the sessions 🙂
Hello danmartin, this usernameisabeast, student19, kieranw and jamesk,
A popular question! You should be able to read about this from the information given by the scientists on the imascientist web-pages.
Personally speaking, I would buy 5 pigs and bury them in a mass grave, as that is currently of great interest in research and I cant afford to buy them myself.
As for who you should vote for, this is up to you! Perhaps which one you liked texting to the most, or who had the most interesting answers, etc.
Hello to you all,
I would love the money, but my local primary and junior school needs it more, to allow them to buy science equipment. In turn, this will hopefully allow young people to explore and enjoy science for themselves, to inspire them to study and want to work in science.
It is a very big subject and I believe that there is something to interest everyone. After all, science is all around us.
Give the schools the money they need for equipment and this will allow teachers to enthuse and interest their classes to enjoy science.
Thank you for your question.
Mark.
Hi Danmartin, thisuser,student19, kieran and james,
thanks for the question. I plan to use the funds to work with our local science centre here in Glasgow to put together some exhibits and tools for students from schools to help them explore some aspects of forensic science. We would use some of the questions and topics you guys have raised in the work. Working with the science centre means we can work with hundreds of students across Scotland
I would organise and run a forensic biology boot camp that would teach students about crime scene analysis, sample collection and processing – the real science behind CSI! This would be a 2-day course, then at the end students would present their findings and be judged on their analyses and conclusions.
This exercise helps students appreciate the uses of science in the real world, turning theory into practive, inspiring young people to become scientists, ultimately benefiting everyone!
