I dont want to win particularly Amber, I am keener that we, as participating scientists in this exercise, may in some way inspire you to both enjoy science, and hopefully go on and become one!
I think my idea of a forensic boot camp will really help students understand what they see on TV – appreciate what is actually going on. I think its also important to get young people interested in science, especially as its generally more ‘boring’ in schools than real life. What could be more applicable today than teaching you about a real crime scene, and how they are processed. The science is not always hard, and students can get to grips with what appears to be a hard subject very easily and quickly – a sense of achievement!
That’s a hard question to answer … I’d like to think that using the funds to work with our Science Centre here in Glasgow to put on a forensic exhibit for schools would be a good reason to win
Thank you for your question. It’s not that I think that I should win, it is more that I would like my local primary and junior school to win – the funds to buy science equipment to try and enthuse and inspire the young forensic scientists of tomorrow, like yourself.
It is not only enthusiastic teachers that students need, but the equipment and apparatus to try the experiments for themselves.
