Yes, I did enjoy the science subjects more than arts subjects, partly because I had inspiring science teachers and also I liked doing experiments and finding out thing s for myself at school!

      Hi

No, not at junior school. It was my worst. It was not until secondary school when I really got into it. It was more interesting then. I especially enjoyed dissections in Biology and making pretty colours in chemistry. I also liked maths (geek – I know) and geography and PE. I didnt like English or Drama etc.

      Hello Steven,

Yes, and sport (especially athletics and rugby). I was lucky to have really inspiring teachers, in biology, chemistry and physics (and PE).

In particular was my biology teacher, Mr Porter, who taught me from year 7 to the end of my ‘A’ levels. He was a real ‘anorak’ on biology, particularly entomology, both in school and outside it. If you have really enthusiastic teachers(and you probably do have as you are on this web site), it is difficult not to pick up on their enthusiasm.

People who love their work usually enjoy showing others what they do, and explaining it. It is infectious. As you have gathered, I really enjoy my job.

Steven, thank you for your question. I hope that you find sciences as your favourites as well.

      Mark.

Yes and no.. I liked all three of the sciences we learned at school (chemistry. physics and biology) but I also really liked maths and geography.

Yes, I took all the sciences and maths for A-Level. I think that chemistry was my absolute favourite.
