      Hello Jessica123,

My main job is lecturing students at University, but I often get called by search teams to help them find buried objects which they are interested in finding. This could be for weapons, arms caches or murder victims who have been shallowly buried.

To find things, I use geophysical methods, which detect physical properties in the ground, and hopefully there will be a contrast in properties between the target and background values. Eg a metal knife can be detected uysing a metal detector in a rural field, but will be much more difficult to find in a scrapyard full of metal debris!
