      Hi connor123456789,

I think that the land speed record is currently held by Richard Nobles Thrust SSC, jet car. It managed around 760 mph.

Hoevr, the fastest road car I think is a Bugatti Veyron, at about 260 mph.

How’s this for some more figures.

A car travelling at 30 mph on a typical dry asphalt road will skid to a stop in some 13 metres.
A car travelling at 260 mph on the same road will skid to stop in 984 metres
A car travelling at 760 mph on the same road surface will skid to stop in 8.4 kilometres, if it didn’t wear its tyres and wheel rims out first!

Now, who says that maths isn’t fun?

      Mark.
