      Hi

I cannot honestly see how in a universe as vast as ours that we are the only living organisms. other lifeforms are probably vastly different to ours, but im sure they exist in some form. So yes I am a believer, and will be until this is proven otherwise.

Well sometimes I struggle to see how us humans can be classed as intelligent when you see the destruction we cause to the planet but who knows, maybe there are other life forms out there. If they are intelligent, they probably wouldn’t come to see us anyway!!

      Hello tdotmanican,

Statistically there must be, there are uncountable number of stars with surrounding planets which should be habitable for life, so there must be other intelligent life forms out there. Whether, of course, they have starships and can visit us, is another question!

Hi Tdotmanican – An interesting question. It seems likely given how many stars there are and how big we think the universe is. Depend on what you mean by ‘intelligent’ 🙂

      Hello todotmanican,
It depends on what you regard as intelligent. Aware enough of their surroundings and environment to adapt to changes? Social associations with other members of a life form? Beings that can construct complex systems and technology, such as humans? There again, we are supposedly intelligent, but we then turn our technology on our own kind, in times of war, potentially risking all life forms. How intelligent are we now then?

Other life forms out there in the universe? Why should we be so conceited and egocentric to feel that we are the only life supporting and sustaining planet in the entire myriad of stars and planetary systems? I find it difficult to believe that we are the only planet with developed life forms on it.

A very good question, for which the greatest scientists in the world are still arguing over (and I am certainly not one of them). Thank you for your question.
