      Hello Bones,

Oh yes. A work/home life balance is all important, although currently preparing a PhD project has left my wife as a study widow.

However, I really enjoy my work which, to keep at the fore of vehicle technology and forensics, is necessary.

      Mark.

I do yes, whilst it is great to be fully focused on the job, you cant do it 24/7. I have a young family so of course I have other constraints on my time, namely them!

Social wise, I dont do much socialising due to family committments and work in the evenings, but I do try and do sport 4 times a week, it helps blow the cobwebs away and often you think of novel solutions of problems that you are wrestling with without realising it. Well, that happens to me anyway.

      Hi

I dont have time, but I make time. I believe ‘work hard play hard’, so make sure I have some relaxation time to maximise my work output. Im not a happy person if I dont get a rest!

      hi Bones

      another good and thoughtful question.

There are times in the year when I travel quite a bit and that can take me away from home for week ends or a week here or there. I also tend to work fairly long days (7:30 am to about 7:30 pm) so it can be a challenge sometimes getting the balance right. But my home life is very important and I usually manage to keep the weekends work free …
