• Question: do you ever get bored of being a scientist

      I wish I could get bored, but there is so much to do, I never run out of work! If something is getting tricky and Im not making much progress, I’ll also do something else and come back to it later, usually then a solution has presented itself, dont know why really but it works!

      No,not really. Some tasks are sometimes more difficult to turn my mind to, like starting off writing a difficult report, especially if I know that it is going to be a Crown Court case. Once I have started the report, then it generally flows.

      That is all I can really think of in my line of work, as every crash is different, with different factors to research and investigate. That is the excitement factor – I never know what the next call is going to be.

      Hi

      Not very often no; its nice to come into work every day knowing you are making a difference, and doing new and exciting research. There are some days when I wish I could just relax at home instead of getting up early, but that comes with most jobs! Just have to persevere, and get on with it. It always worth it when you get a day of really good results!
